Membership in United Women in Faith (UWF) is open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong. The Mt. Pleasant Unit was chartered in 2012 during the celebration of our 200th anniversary and became part of the Charlottesville District, now the Three Notch’d District . Since our chartering we have organized women’s retreats and prayer luncheons, held parties for residents of Heart Havens Group Home, established a prayer shawl ministry, held annual reading events, supported local missions such as Young Life, Louisa Resource Council, Louisa Community Emergency Fund and global missions by providing school, birthing, and hygiene kits for UMCOR. We also like to have fun. How does painting rocks, making earrings, sewing stockings for kids, and crafting a fresh wreath sound?
Presently UWF meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 10:30 in the Fellowship Hall. We invite you to join us. For more information contact Joyce Osburn, UWF Unit President.
Our church members are very active in our community. We participate both as a church and also individually to serve the needs of various organizations. Our members support organizations such as the Louisa County Resource Council, Young Life, the Louisa County Historical Society, the Lake Anna Civic Association, the Coast Guard and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
We encourage you to give back to the community where you live and work.
TUESDAY MORNINGS – There are a variety of activities for church members on Tuesday morning at Mt. Pleasant. Whether you want to garden, learn a new craft, or want to discuss the Bible or a variety of topics, there is something available for you! We hope to see you there.
